The scheming scammer

I heard a rather shocking news from my sister just now, and I really want to blog about it.
We had lunch when my sister told us that yesterday she didnt stay at my grandma's house because there was a strange fella trying to sell stuff to her.
I was fast asleep last night, because suddenly feeling feverish. So she told me that last night our maid opened the door for a stranger. Luckily my sister intervened. So she asked him what he wanted.
The guy wanted to sell some water treatment product. My sister was not interested so she declined to buy anything. The guy kept on trying to coax her so that he can do a demo inside.
It was 8 at night, and of all day, it was saturday. Either that guy is a very dedicated salesman, or he's a trouble. I vote for the later.
Then my sister lied to him saying that we've already purchased a water treatment. He asked what brand, and my sister replied Amway.
Not giving up, he tried to sell vacuum cleaner which not only can vacuum but also clean the carpet with soap. My sister replied we had the vacuum cleaner and its no longer working.
And then he tried to sell sewing machine Man IF I was there instead of my sister I would laughed at him... sewing machine????
So the man went away after failing to coax my sister to allow him to be in the house.
My sister noted that he wasn't really looking at my sister but his eyes were wandering and lurking inside the house. So obviously he's a scammer.
It's pretty shocking and we ought to be careful all the time. Eventhough we feel that it is safe to be home, we still need to be vigilant. We never know who might be watching us, trying to see who is home who is not. We might not even aware that they are actually close to us.
Have a look at this website and learn from it:

Scammers or con artists always tried to find the gap that he can infiltrate. I think the reason why they are called con artists are because they can think creative way to trick people.
I only have one advise to all:
Always ensure that you are safe, even if you are at the safest place on earth, always be safe!

Wow.. Freebiesssss

Lately I've been receiving this email about saying 'FREE ERICSSON LAPTOP'... and it really hit my nerves today!!!! I've been receiving 5 similar emails.... man~ why? To be exact, the email is something like this:

Dear all,
Ericsson is distributing free laptops for their brand promotion. They hope to increase their popularity and sale by this campaign. All you need to do is send an email about this promotion to 8 people and you will receive an Ericsson T18 Laptop. However, if you send an email to 20 or more people, you will receive an Ericsson R320 Laptop.
Make sure you cc to Anna at Ericsson so that she will know you have sent the e-mail.

I know having freebies can be overwhelming.. I, myself would love to have the free laptop. Especially laptop... but the thing is.. this is all big fat lie! CRAP!

Personally, why I don't trust the email...
Ericsson laptop? Never heard of it. Its a mobile brand for god's sake. Used to be, because it was later bought by Sony. Ever heard of Sony Ericsson??

Ok.. so I did a search on the Google... I would highly recommend people to do a search on google for any ambigous email e.g. updating your account (I'll post a blog about this), offerings freebies, winning lotteries, granted a will wat so ever... or if you don't want google you can use www.snopes.com. Search in their database.. its worth the time and money! cos time is afterall money.

So running the search, I love this one the most. ( http://www.hoax-slayer.com/ericsson-free-lap-top.shtml ). It says it all: HOAX.. in other words 'You've been fooled' or like Ashton Kutcher would say 'You've been PUNKED!'

The reason why the email has been circulating ever since 8 years ago (yes 8 YeaRs!!!) is because it doesnt mentioned any dates... ppl fell into the trap.. someone changes the mobile to laptop.. and wala~ The key word is that.. People keep on clicking Send... send to all.. send it off...

Only you can stop this.. STOP sending off emails that is not making sense. It pure useless and a waste of time.
